This is
a typical scene in Bay County Florida. Hurricane Michael
destroyed thousands of homes and businesses. Several schools have
been closed indefinitely and thousands of Bay County citizens
have had to leave the area. Samaritan's Purse and BGEA continue
to serve Bay County homeowners and others.

More from Panama City, FL (Hurricane Michael)
This is not déjà vu. We actually were called back to Panama
City, FL for another two-week deployment where we served
as volunteer chaplains of the Rapid Response Team (RRT), a
ministry of Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA).
The amazing Samaritan's Purse disaster relief
teams continue to help those who were devastated by Hurricane
Michael in October 2018. This relief effort is far from finished
and will continue for many weeks. Thousands are still not able to
return to their homes and jobs. The emotional trauma experienced
by these families is tremendous and we saw the Lord move in many
lives to give them calm and hope.
Once again, we were part of two incredible
volunteer teams of chaplains ministering to the Samaritan's Purse
volunteers, home owners and families, and first-responders. We
traveled throughout Bay County doing our best to give spiritual
and emotional comfort and hope to those devastated by the
hurricane.
After a very brief rest at home in Rendon, we will
return to Panama City for another two-week deployment with BGEA
RRT. Please pray for us as we share the love of Christ and His
gospel with those we encounter.
Samaritan's Purse is in need of volunteers to help
the thousands in disaster areas around the country. Look for
volunteer opportunities here.
*Samaritan’s
Purse and Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) are
ministries of Franklin Graham.

Photo: Someone remarked how colorful this pile of
destroyed porta-potties was. Very shortly, the Lord put this
rainbow in place as if to say, "You want to see colorful?
I'll show you colorful." Thank you, Lord.

As we minister in Bay County, we encounter God
moments every day. We often write them as stories to be shared
with BGEA RRT. This one (written by Trisha) was posted on the
BGEA RRT facebook page. Read the story (here).

About Nicaragua - Some Good News
|
|
As we continually communicate with our partners in
Nicaragua, the news about the political, economic and safety
situation is in decline. There is good news from Juan about our
Asaf Music Academy. After relocating to the Las Brisas area of
Managua, the academy reopened last week. Praise the Lord, there
were 25 students. This is the largest class so far. Juan and
Oscar are encouraged. We pray that the students faithfully attend
and even more are added.
The needs are great as our partner churches
continue to reach into their communities with the gospel of
Christ. Our Aid Nica project is focused on assisting our staff
and church partners and pastors as they continue to share Christ.
We are prayerfully preparing to visit in the
coming months. We will take some needed supplies and spend some
time encouraging and praying with our staff and church partners.
Meanwhile, we continue our partnerships in
Nicaragua by sending money (prayerfully and wisely) to our church
partners for supplies, events and infrastructure. In addition, we
continue to help our staff and pastors meet the needs in their
families for food, medicine and other things. We also continue to
provide the money for 9 children of pastors and staff to attend
Christian schools.
Please keep praying and supporting us during this
crisis. All help given to our Aid Nica project goes to providing
needed help to our partners and partner churches.

Once our
deployment to Panama City ends, we will be back behind bars. There
are opportunities every month to share Christ in the prisons and
jails across the country.
Behind
the Walls (formerly Champions for Life) is the ministry of Bill
Glass and continues to share the gospel with inmates across the
country. Find out how you can be involved in this life changing
ministry. Click here.

Appreciating
God's Providence
|

While we
mourn for Nicaragua, we can see God's hand in keeping us busy in
the U.S. The Lord has put in front of us several unexpected
opportunities to minister to others in crisis. We are grateful
that while we yearn to go back to Nicaragua, the Lord has seen fit
to keep us busy in various ways.
If we can
serve you, we are ready to be in front of your congregation, Bible
class or small group to preach, teach, share testimony, instruct
on mission, or simply share God's word.
Please
contact us to schedule a date and time. (We do not require or request
any offering for this service).
