All over
the country, Americans are making plans for vacations in 2012.
Some are planning cruises, trips to out-of-state theme parks and other
grand excursions. Making plans and reservations months in advance
seem to be no problem where vacations are concerned.
Why is it
that Christians are so reluctant to plan for and commit to going on
mission more than a few weeks in advance? To plan for a week long
vacation seems to be easier than allowing for a week long mission trip.
In our
informal surveys of other ministries, we have found that this is a
common problem. Here are some of the "excuses" that
have been reported.
"I
can't possibly commit now. Something better might come
along."
"My
life is just too hectic to know what I'll be doing in a few
months."
"My
folks are already taking care of the kids while my wife and I go on
vacation next year. I would have to find someone else to watch
the kids."
We're
extending a couple of the deadlines, but not for long. Be ready
to join us next year. Make a commitment now!
A $100
deposit is due by Dec 1, 2012 for the following trips to Nicaragua.
