Returning to Managua - Please Pray for Us

First, let us thank you for your continued prayers, emails of support and inquiries about the situation in Nicaragua.

We have been praying for the opportunity to return to Managua and we are confident that the opportunity is now. We have been in contact with our partners and have received weekly reports of the situation there. In the last week or so, the security situation has improved slightly. Travel within the city of Managua (during daytime) is now fairly unrestricted and the major avenues are free of obstructions and barricades.

We will be traveling only during daylight and always with one of our trusted partners as the driver. We want to see for ourselves and prayerfully decide what the next steps should be for our ministry there. We hope to visit most of our partners and churches and pray with them and encourage them. We will also be distributing some material helps to them and checking on their overall well-being.

We covet your prayers. This will be a short trip with much to be done. Pray for our safety, endurance and most of all decisions to be made.

Blessings,

Jody and Trisha

What Are Jody and Trisha Doing Now?

·    Nicaragua partners - We are in continuous communication with our partner families and churches in Nicaragua. We continue to provide emotional, spiritual, and financial support. We are making plans and revising plans for our return as the situation changes there.

·    Prison Ministry - We have reconnected with Behind the Walls (formerly Bill Glass Champions for Life). We both served in the Harris County Jail (Houston) recently and were thrilled to see some of those say "yes" to Christ. We are scheduled for another prison this month.

·    BGEA Rapid Response Team - We completed another week of crisis response training with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. We are ready to respond to both natural and man-caused crises as needed.

·    Preaching - Jody has had the opportunity to preach several times since April and Iooks forward to other opportunities as they arise.

·    Personal maintenance - We are taking some time to catch up on doctor's appointments and other things that have been delayed during our time in Nicaragua.

·    Family and Friends - We are thrilled to be able to spend some time with our family and catch up with friends as time allows. We still have family to visit and have yet to sit face to face with many of you. If we are unable to return to Nicaragua soon, we would love to see you.

·    Appreciating God's Providence - While we mourn for Nicaragua, we can see God's hand in having us "beached" in the U.S. This time has allowed us to be in Texas while our daughter and family are here from China We have been able to support a loved one during an extended hospitalization. The Lord has put in front of us several unexpected opportunities to minister to others in crisis. We are grateful that while we yearn to go back to Nicaragua, the Lord has seen fit to keep us busy in various ways.
