Nicaragua in Crisis (Part 2)

First, let us thank you for your prayers, emails of support and inquiries about the situation in Nicaragua. A few of you have helped us provide for the needs of our partners - Thank you!

While there is very little information in the U.S. news outlets about Nicaragua,

one source of reliable information comes from the U.S. Embassy in Managua. At the bottom of this message is a link to an alert we received recently and links to some other news outlets.

Some of you may be in contact with some of our partners through email or social media. Please be aware that ALL social media, emails, telephone texts and telephone messaging apps are being monitored by the government there. (While Nicaragua is a third-world country, they have plenty of help with the technologies of SIGINT and ELINT.)

It is important for the safety of our partners and others in the country (and for us upon our return) that you do not make political comments or criticize the Nicaraguan government. It is much better if you simply encourage them and commit to praying for them.

We are asking for help in meeting the needs of our Nicaragua partners' families and our partner churches. Donations in any amount will be used wisely to meet the essential needs. To donate, use the PayPal button below or mail your check to Jody Kennedy International, PO Box 6802, Fort Worth, TX 76115.

What Are Jody and Trisha Doing Now?

·    Nicaragua partners - We are in continuous communication with our partner families and churches in Nicaragua. We continue to provide emotional, spiritual, and financial support. We are making plans and revising plans for our return as the situation changes there.

·    Prison Ministry - We have reconnected with Behind the Walls (formerly Bill Glass Champions for Life). We both served in the Harris County Jail (Houston) recently and were thrilled to see some of those say "yes" to Christ. We are scheduled for another prison event soon.

·    BGEA Rapid Response Team - We completed another week of crisis response training with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. We are ready to respond to both natural and man-caused crises as needed.

·    Preaching - Jody has had the opportunity to preach several times since April and Iooks forward to other opportunities as they arise.

·    Personal maintenance - We are taking some time to catch up on doctor's appointments and other things that have been delayed during our time in Nicaragua.

·    Family and Friends - We are thrilled to be able to spend some time with our family and catch up with friends as time allows. We still have family to visit and have yet to sit face to face with many of you. If we are unable to return to Nicaragua soon, we would love to see you.

·    Appreciating God's Providence - While we mourn for Nicaragua, we can see God's hand in having us "beached" in the U.S. This time has allowed us to be in Texas while our daughter and family are here from China We have been able to support a loved one during an extended hospitalization. The Lord has put in front of us several unexpected opportunities to minister to others in crisis. We are grateful that while we yearn to go back to Nicaragua, the Lord has seen fit to keep us busy in various ways.
